Major Milestone Reached on 132/33kV Substation Project

Great progress is being made on one of ESM Power’s latest high-voltage projects – a 132/33kV substation build from a greenfield site.

Our team has been hard at work delivering a full turnkey solution, with the scope of works including:

Construction of all equipment foundations, site ducting, and earthing systems
Building the NGED control room
Installation of all high-voltage equipment
Procurement, installation, wiring, and commissioning of all control room panels

A significant milestone has now been achieved with the installation and connection of the 132/33kVtransformer. This includes connection through current transformers (CTs),voltage transformers (VTs), disconnectors, earth switches, circuit breakers, post insulators, capacitive voltage transformers (CVTs), and surge arrestors – putting the substation on track for grid connection.

The project is now entering its final stages, with control panels being prepped for commissioning and handover ahead of energisation.

A huge well done to our site team for keeping this complex build moving forward safely and efficiently. Their hard work and dedication continue to set the standard in high-voltage infrastructure delivery.
